Alpine Hypercar Ready For Assault With Veteran Experience and Rising Talent
Alpine Endurance Team has officially unveiled the full driver line-up for its two-car Hypercar effort in the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), building on a solid foundation laid during their debut season in the top class. With a blend of returning talent and fresh expertise, Alpine aims to push further up the championship standings following its maiden podium at the 6 Hours of Fuji in 2024.
The announcement follows the recent reveal of the striking 2025 livery for the Alpine A424, a car that symbolized a year of learning and growth for the French marque. With continued technical development and improved performance, Alpine is targeting consistent podiums and race victories in the new season.
Alpine A424’s Returning Line-Ups and New Additions
The #35 Alpine A424 will see a familiar trio: Paul-Loup Chatin, Charles Milesi, and Ferdinand Habsburg, each of whom contributed to Alpine’s progress last year. Their synergy and race experience are expected to provide continuity and a competitive edge as the team seeks stronger results across the eight-round calendar.
In the #36 entry, Alpine brings together a formidable mix of talent: Mick Schumacher, who impressed in his rookie endurance season in 2024; Jules Gounon, a returning powerhouse; and Frédéric Makowiecki, an endurance racing stalwart who transitions from Porsche to add his wealth of experience.
“I want to thank Alpine for its continued confidence in 2025,” said Chatin. “We’ve had a year of learning, improving the car throughout the season. We hope our efforts will bear fruit, and Qatar will be the first litmus test.”
Schumacher echoed his enthusiasm: “I’m delighted to remain part of the Alpine endurance adventure. We had a great first year, and I’m determined to help ensure even better performance this season.”
Proven Leadership and High Expectations
The Alpine squad will continue under the strategic guidance of Bruno Famin, Alpine Motorsports Vice-President. Meanwhile, Philippe Sinault (Team Principal) and Nicolas Lapierre (Sporting Director) bring a combined pedigree of three Le Mans victories and two world titles in LMP2, providing the foundation for Alpine’s top-tier ambitions.
The A424 Hypercar, now in its second season, has shown promising signs of competitiveness, and Alpine’s fourth-place finish in the 2024 Manufacturers’ standings reflects the team’s strong upward trajectory.
Road to Qatar and Beyond
The 2025 WEC campaign kicks off with the Qatar 1812km on February 28, setting the stage for an exciting season as Alpine eyes a return to the podium and potentially, a shot at victory. With sharpened strategies, an evolved A424 machine, and a high-caliber driver roster, Alpine is poised for an assertive presence in the world’s premier endurance racing series.
