Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA Unveils 2025 WEC Driver Line-Ups with Balance of Experience and Emerging Talent
Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has officially confirmed its two Hypercar driver line-ups for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship, revealing a blend of seasoned veterans and rising stars. The Anglo-American collaboration brings together Cadillac’s legendary motorsport pedigree and JOTA’s proven expertise in endurance racing, forming a formidable challenger for the upcoming WEC campaign.
The #12 Cadillac V-Series.R prototype will be driven by Alex Lynn, Norman Nato, and Will Stevens, while the #38 car features Earl Bamber, Sébastien Bourdais, and Jenson Button, the 2009 Formula 1 World Champion.
Focused on Chemistry and Performance
The team emphasized that its driver pairings were carefully curated not just based on performance, but also team synergy and driving compatibility. David Clark, Co-Founder of JOTA, highlighted the importance of building the right chemistry across the board.
“Getting that chemistry right, not only between the drivers, but within the entire team is something we pride ourselves on,” said Clark. “We’ve already seen an incredible spirit form during pre-season testing.”
Team Principal Dieter Gass echoed the sentiment, noting that the final selections took into account a combination of factors including driving style, experience, and personality, all aimed at maximizing team output.
“We have six extremely strong drivers… Each of them brings something unique, and we took our time to create the most balanced and competitive pairings.”
Cadillac and JOTA: A Championship-Caliber Alliance
The collaboration marks a new era for both brands. Cadillac brings factory support and a potent 5.5-litre V8 powertrain, while JOTA arrives fresh off two FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams titles and an overall win at Spa-Francorchamps in 2024.
With Cadillac expanding its WEC ambitions, the team is positioned to be a serious title contender from the outset. Both the #12 and #38 crews are stacked with talent and experience across Formula 1, Le Mans, IMSA, and international GT racing.
Leadership Restructuring to Drive Performance Gains
To support the Hypercar campaign, Cadillac Racing has restructured its leadership, bringing in top motorsport professionals:
- Keely Bosn has been appointed Programme Manager, overseeing the day-to-day operations.
- Sean O’Shea takes over as Propulsion Manager, focusing on engine development and performance.
- Xavier Marcos Padros, formerly a Formula 1 race engineer with Ferrari, Williams, and NASCAR, joins as Technical Director, tasked with leading engineering and performance strategy.
This experienced leadership team is expected to play a pivotal role in optimizing the Cadillac V-Series.R for the challenges of an intense eight-round 2025 WEC calendar.
Eyes on Le Mans and the Championship
With the Hypercar class growing ever more competitive, Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA is aiming for nothing short of LM24 glory and WEC championship contention. With drivers of the calibre of Button, Bourdais, Bamber, Lynn, Nato, and Stevens, the team has assembled one of the most versatile and formidable squads on the grid.
Expectations are high, but with the right blend of experience, talent, and engineering excellence, 2025 could mark a breakthrough season for this new transatlantic alliance.
