Heart of Racing Secures Full Driver Line-Up for 2025 FIA WEC LMGT3 Campaign
The Heart of Racing Team has finalized its driver roster for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), confirming Zacharie Robichon and Mattia Drudi will join long-time team leader Ian James in the cockpit of the Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3.
Strong 2024 Campaign Sets the Stage
The American team heads into 2025 after a competitive 2024 season. Highlights included a home-soil victory at COTA, runner-up finishes in Qatar and São Paulo, and a fifth-place overall finish in the LMGT3 standings. With Alex Riberas moving up to Aston Martin’s Valkyrie Hypercar project and Daniel Mancinelli stepping away, the team’s new line-up signals continuity and renewed strength.
Robichon: Proven Success Across Series
Canadian driver Zacharie Robichon brings vast experience, having debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2022 and secured four top-10 finishes in FIA WEC last year with Proton Competition. A winner of IMSA’s GTD title and the ELMS LMGTE crown, he also celebrated podium finishes at the 24 Hours of Daytona and victory at the Bathurst 12 Hour in 2024.
“I’m excited to finally complete a full FIA WEC season with Ian and Mattia,” Robichon said. “Competing with Heart of Racing and Aston Martin is an opportunity I’ve been looking forward to.”
Drudi: FIA WEC Debut with Momentum
Italian racer Mattia Drudi will make his FIA WEC debut in 2025 following a stellar record in GT World Challenge Europe, where he claimed the 2023 Sprint Cup crown and most recently won the 24 Hours of Spa in an Aston Martin Vantage. Drudi also partnered Robichon in a third-place finish at this year’s 24 Hours of Daytona.
“I’m super-excited to be joining FIA WEC with Heart of Racing,” Drudi said. “With Zach and Ian, we have a very strong line-up, and the Vantage was already one of the most competitive cars last year. I can’t wait to start in Qatar later this month.”
James Optimistic for 2025
Team Principal-driver Ian James, returning for his third consecutive WEC campaign, expressed confidence in the new line-up:
“Zach and Mattia are both great drivers and proved their ability at Daytona. With our experienced crew and the success we’ve built over the past two seasons, I’m excited about what 2025 holds.”
The Heart of Racing Team heads into the 2025 FIA WEC season with a refreshed and competitive line-up. With Robichon, Drudi, and James behind the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3, the team is well-positioned to challenge for more victories and podiums as the season begins in Qatar later this month.
