A Legacy of Innovation, Public Safety, and Life-Saving Missions
Automobili Lamborghini and the Italian Polizia di Stato are celebrating two decades of collaboration, a partnership that began in 2004 with the delivery of a Lamborghini Gallardo. Over the years, Lamborghini has supplied six high-performance vehicles to aid emergency medical response and road safety operations across Italy.
These specialized supercars have completed over 200 life-saving organ transport missions and participated in more than 1,500 road safety education events, reinforcing safe driving awareness nationwide. Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini, stated: “We are proud to support the Italian State Police in their mission to protect citizens and save lives.”
Key Milestones in Lamborghini’s Police Partnership
Gallardo (2004-2005):
The collaboration began with the V10-powered Gallardo, deployed for patrol and emergency missions in central and southern Italy. It featured a refrigerated compartment for organ transport and cutting-edge traffic monitoring tools. A second Gallardo was introduced in 2005 for operations in Bologna.
Gallardo LP 560-4 (2008):
An upgraded 5.2L V10 engine (560 CV) enhanced performance and stability. This model patrolled the Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway, transported organs, and made ceremonial appearances at events like the Targa Florio rally.
Huracán LP 610-4 (2014-2017):
Lamborghini provided two Huracán models equipped with high-speed emergency response technology. In February 2023, a Huracán successfully transported a kidney from L’Aquila to Turin, saving a 57-year-old woman’s life.
Urus Performante (2023):
The latest addition to the fleet, the twin-turbocharged V8 Urus Performante, was delivered in December 2023. It includes a refrigerated compartment, defibrillator, and secure public safety tool storage, reinforcing its role in emergency medical transport.

Chief of Police Vittorio Pisani emphasized Lamborghini’s pivotal role in organ transport and public safety, noting that the brand’s engineering excellence has significantly improved urgent medical response times. Beyond performance, Lamborghini continues to integrate sustainability and cutting-edge technology into its police fleet while maintaining its iconic design.
