Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2025 Update
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has officially revealed the updated 2025 Outlander PHEV in Europe, introducing significant enhancements in performance, comfort, and connectivity. The refreshed model will hit showrooms in Japan this fall, with availability across 20 European countries from spring 2025. Updates for the gasoline variant and availability in North America, Australia, and New Zealand are also in the pipeline.
More Range, More Power, Same Versatility
The new Outlander PHEV continues to embody Mitsubishi’s “I-Fu-Do-Do” philosophy—authentic and majestic—while delivering greater electric performance. A renewed battery pushes the EV-only range to over 80 kilometers (WLTP) and increases maximum output by around 20%, delivering stronger, more exhilarating acceleration.
As Mitsubishi’s flagship electrified SUV, the Outlander PHEV combines the brand’s best twin-motor 4WD system and Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) to provide secure, stable handling across various terrains and weather conditions. The improved model also features suspension and tire upgrades, optimizing ride quality for a more refined driving experience.
Elevated Interior and Tech Experience
The 2025 Outlander PHEV isn’t just about performance; interior refinement is a central theme. A larger 12.3-inch SDA infotainment display, new seat ventilation options, and upgraded connectivity features enhance driver and passenger convenience.
Adding to its premium appeal, the SUV introduces an audio system co-developed with Yamaha Corporation, offering superior sound clarity and immersive listening.
The World’s Best-Selling Plug-In Hybrid 4WD SUV
Since its debut in 2013 as the world’s first plug-in hybrid 4WD SUV, the Outlander PHEV has become a global success story, especially in Europe, North America, and Australia. With over 370,000 units sold globally, it serves as an EV for daily commutes and a hybrid for longer journeys, combining smooth electric drive with hybrid efficiency.
The 2025 update aims to build on this legacy, ensuring the Outlander PHEV remains a top choice for those seeking a capable, comfortable, and cleaner SUV. With expanded global rollout and continuous innovation, Mitsubishi is reaffirming its position at the forefront of electrified all-wheel-drive mobility.
