MotoGP 2025 Dutch TT: A Historic Win for Marquez

In one of the most dramatic races of the season, Marc Marquez stormed to victory at the MotoGP 2025 Dutch TT, beating Marco Bezzecchi by just 0.6 seconds at the legendary TT Circuit Assen. With this win, Marquez draws level with MotoGP legend Giacomo Agostini on 68 premier class victories, further cementing his legacy in the sport.

Opening Drama: Bagnaia, Bezzecchi, and a Flying Start

Francesco Bagnaia led into Turn 1, taking the holeshot, as polesitter Fabio Quartararo dropped to fourth. Marc Marquez quickly moved into second and soon challenged Bagnaia for the lead. Bezzecchi also showed early aggression, moving into podium contention by the end of Lap 2.

By Lap 5, the top five included Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Bezzecchi, Pedro Acosta, and Alex Marquez, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown.

Alex Marquez Crashes Out in Championship Twist

The race took a dramatic turn on Lap 6 when Alex Marquez, after a tussle with Acosta, crashed out. Smoke from the Gresini rider’s front tyre suggested a mechanical issue, and later it was confirmed that he suffered a fractured hand, dealing a significant blow to his championship hopes.

The crash triggered chaos further back, with Fermin Aldeguer high-siding out and Joan Mir crashing shortly after. Quartararo dropped to 13th in the shuffle.

Final Laps: Marquez Holds Off Bezzecchi

As the race progressed, Bezzecchi overtook Bagnaia to hunt down Marquez. The final 5 laps were a test of nerves and precision. Despite intense pressure, Marquez never put a wheel wrong. By the final sector of the last lap, he had built a 0.7s buffer, sealing a phenomenal win at Assen—the Cathedral of Speed.

Bagnaia rounded out the podium in third, marking a strong comeback after a lackluster home race.
