The MotoGP 2025 German GP Sprint once again proved that Sprint Races belong to Marc Marquez. His daring final-lap overtake capped off a brilliant comeback, further cementing his legendary status at Sachsenring while Fabio Quartararo stepped onto the podium once again after 2023.
Marquez Extends Sprint Dominance With Last Lap Glory
The MotoGP German GP 2025 Sprint at Sachsenring was a wet and wild battle, and it took Marc Marquez until the very last lap to complete his charge to the front. A dramatic overtake on Marco Bezzecchi at Turn 1 secured the Spaniard yet another Tissot Sprint win, and his 10th gold medal in just 11 race weekends.
Early Drama: Bezzecchi Leads, Marquez Drops to Sixth
After a brilliant launch from pole, Marc Marquez ran wide at Turn 1, slipping to sixth behind Bezzecchi, Morbidelli, and a surging Fabio Quartararo, who moved up from seventh to third in just two laps.
Zarco, meanwhile, struggled with tire choice, falling down the order as the Aprilia of Bezzecchi led comfortably early on.
Mid-Race: The Comeback Begins
By Lap 7, Marquez had fought his way back to P3, overtaking Di Giannantonio and capitalizing on Pedro Acosta’s off-track excursion. He then overtook Quartararo for P2 and began closing a 1.6s gap to leader Bezzecchi.
The pace was relentless. In just two laps, Marquez reduced the lead to under a second, and by Lap 13, the pressure was unbearable for Bezzecchi.
Final Lap: A Masterclass from the Sachsenring King
On the final lap of the MotoGP German GP 2025 Sprint, Marquez launched his attack at Turn 1. Though initially appearing overcooked, he expertly hung it wide and cut back inside at Turn 2 to grab the lead.
Bezzecchi couldn’t respond, and Marc Marquez powered through the final corners to cross the line first, yet again proving his mastery of the Sachsenring.
