Yamaha introduced the new MT-09 Y-AMT, the first Yamaha to integrate the Yamaha Automated Manual Transmission (Y-AMT). This system eliminates the gear and clutch levers, making riding smoother and more engaging. The bike is equipped with the CP3 three-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 119 hp at 10000 rpm and 93 Nm at 7000 rpm. Three preset riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain) and two customizable maps adjust power, traction, slip control, anti-pinch and cornering ABS.
The Y-AMT system offers the possibility of changing gears in automatic or manual mode, with two gearstick logics: D for a more relaxed riding style and D+ for a more sporty behaviour. Despite the addition of the Y-AMT system, the bike’s weight increases by just 2.8 kg, thus stopping the scale at 196 kg in running order. The new MT-09 Y-AMT will be available in three colors: Tech Black, Midnight Cyan and Icon Blue.
