Nissan Formula E Team Teams Up with Dynisma for State-of-the-Art Racing Simulator
As preparations intensify for the upcoming 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, the Nissan Formula E Team has announced a major technical partnership with Dynisma Ltd., a global leader in advanced simulator technology. This collaboration will see the delivery of a bespoke Dynisma DMG-1 racing simulator—engineered specifically for Formula E—before the start of Season 12.
Strategic Investment Ahead of the GEN4 Era
With the dawn of the GEN4 Formula E era on the horizon, teams are pushing the boundaries of development under tight testing restrictions. Nissan’s move to collaborate with Dynisma highlights a strong commitment to maximizing off-track performance to gain a competitive edge.
The simulator will play a key role in allowing drivers and engineers to refine car setups, strategies, and system behaviors well ahead of each race weekend, particularly vital in a series where real-world testing opportunities are limited.
Realistic, High-Fidelity Race Preparation
The Dynisma DMG-1 system is among the most advanced in the motorsport industry, delivering ultra-low latency and unmatched motion cueing for a hyper-realistic driver experience. Tailored specifically for Nissan’s Formula E program, the simulator will mirror the unique characteristics of an electric race car—allowing both car and driver to fine-tune performance with unprecedented accuracy.
Nissan’s engineers will work closely with Dynisma’s team over the coming months to ensure the simulator’s hardware and software meet the unique technical demands of the all-electric racing series.
A Formula E-Ready System, Custom-Built for Nissan
As part of the development process, Dynisma and Nissan will co-develop custom inputs and integrations reflective of the Formula E car’s powertrain, braking systems, regen strategies, and control software. This bespoke approach will allow drivers to simulate high-pressure race conditions, while giving engineers the ability to test updates and optimizations in a virtual environment.
Looking Ahead to Season 12
The new simulator is expected to be operational ahead of the start of Season 12, ensuring Nissan enters the new campaign with a powerful virtual testing and development platform. With Formula E’s GEN4 revolution on the horizon, Nissan is positioning itself at the forefront of innovation—on both the real and simulated track.
