Production and Launch Timeline
Production of the e VITARA will commence at Maruti Suzuki’s Gujarat plant in spring 2025. Sales are scheduled to begin in various countries, including India, during summer 2025.
At the Expo, Suzuki displayed eight different body color options for the e VITARA, alongside cut-away vehicles and technical exhibits showcasing the BEV’s internal components such as the eAxle.
Building a BEV Ecosystem in India
In a press conference on 17 January, Suzuki announced strategic initiatives aimed at boosting BEV adoption across India. Maruti Suzuki will leverage its extensive sales and service network to build a BEV ecosystem, including the establishment of charging facilities, ensuring that customers can transition to electric mobility without range anxiety.
President Suzuki emphasized the company’s dedication, stating: “The e VITARA is Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV model, and we have been closely studying customer requirements for electric vehicles. We are fully committed to building a comprehensive BEV ecosystem in India to offer an anxiety-free experience. This initiative aligns with our recently announced ten-year technology strategy, focused on minimizing energy consumption.”
A Step Toward a Sustainable Future
The introduction of the e VITARA is a major milestone for Suzuki as it moves towards creating a more sustainable future for India and the world. The company’s investment in infrastructure and focus on customer-centric electric vehicle solutions highlights its proactive approach to the evolving global mobility landscape.
